Akita

Akita

According to the weather forecast, it would be snowing heavily on the Sea of Japan side, and requiring the utmost caution.
This trip was accompanied by heavy snow.
When I visited Kochi, a typhoon hit Tokyo directly and I left at that time, but this time, I left Tokyo in the early morning of the next day when the low pressure system covered the Sea of Japan side.
The plan was to take the Uetsu Main Line from Niigata to Akita via the Sea of Japan but the train was suspended. Therefore, I changed my schedule and headed for Akita on the Ou Main Line, which passes through Fukushima and Yamagata.
Once I left Tokyo, the clouds gradually became grayer and thicker, and when I passed through Kuroiso, white snowflakes began to fall slowly. And when I arrived at Shinjo, it was a blizzard that I had never imagined.
When the train started running for Akita from Shinjo and with night coming on.
In the pure white world seen from the running car window, the light could be seen through between the white and the white.
It was a proof that people live under inclement weather conditions. And I felt that stray into a different world with different ontology and different values. Only Japanese I could hear in the train was the only reliance that I was in Japan. The scene from the train window, I got a huge culture shock.
At the same time, I recognized that my travel has been nothing wrong.
It was a harsh figure that cannot be seen on summer days.
From these circumstances I wondered if it was meaningful to live in such severe circumstance land, and I considered that the meaning of existence is more extended and deeper.
Sometimes I felt very beautiful once I saw snow in Tokyo, however the snow in Tohoku seemed destructive.
Living with threats and coexisting with threats in snow of Tohoku is the same as living with the global threat of Covid virus.
I thought that people living there has wisdom that does not live against the selection.
For an instant I saw a heavy snow warning was issued in Akita in the weather forecast for mobile phones.
A world that was becoming more deeply silvery white color and the darkness was approching.
The current world is unstable, insecure, and so harsh that the future is unpredictable.
The present of the world had been wearing the figure of snow. I was sure that the people living in this land would not think that snow is really hard.
The information and the transportation are so developed in today’s world, so it is easy to move to a land without snow.
Living in and with nature. Follow the essence of nature without resisting it. It was the moment for me that it was truly a glimpse into the essence of adaptation.

The blue and red Namahage figures welcomed me once I arrived at Akita Station.
The snow in Akita had stopped before dawn.
The hotel was in the center of the city, but there was no sound.
From time to time, the sound of falling snow echoed out of nowhere.
Tomorrow I will take the Gono line that was canceled today.
However, when I passed through the ticket gate of Akita Station, the station staff told me, “We don’t know if the Gono line will run until tomorrow morning.”
I thought that tomorrow I might be able to take the Gono line, which I had been dreamed a long time.
Finally I will be able to see the raging Sea of Japan.
I felt that I could see the Sea of Japan vacillatinging in the whitecaps from the hotel window.
