The precious collaboration with Ko has produced a page of great commitment: HOORAI.
This composition has a particular morphology, as it is composed of three poems that share the final ‘refrain’ in common. Each poem paints some oriental atmospheres with skillful words of great expressive force. The music then becomes colored from time to time, in the three poems, of a slightly varied instrumental ensemble, using the possibilities of the timbre of similar musical instruments. Here then the flute changes with the piccolo and the G flute, the oboe with the love oboe and the English horn, while the melody is always sung by the soprano, and the piano and the cello make a complex counterpoint . The three ‘refrains’ make changes every time they return, without ever canceling the internal structure which instead remains recognizable.
